Back in August of 2009 there was a horrific accident at one of the world’s largest power plants.  75 workers died in this accident.  The following link is to an investigative report on the accident published in 2010.

Hopefully we can afford to keep our infrastructure in a safe running condition given all the federal cutbacks that have been occurring lately.

Widmer Brothers W’11 KGB Russian Imperial Stout

This is a pretty good ale.  Even though It has 9.3% alcohol by volume the first one went down pretty smooth.  Og course i have been pretty happy with the annual Widmer W beers.

This was available in 12 oz. bottles at Fred Meyer’s in Federal Way.

Earlier I mumbled something about home brewing my own ale.  If you’re interested, this is what is currently in my ale cellar right now.

In this case I used the dry yeast, and it still is better than many of the commercial IPAs out there.

This is really, really cool to see.  You really need to see it in real life, and up close to appreciate it.
